Josh Weiss, a native Memphian, grew up in the church, and, from a very young age, he was blessed to feel the love and support of Christ through his parents, who were always quick to admit their shortcomings and eager to point him to the grace of God. He can’t pinpoint a specific moment of salvation, but, instead, he sees his walk with Christ as a beautiful journey on which God has been taking him for almost as long as he can remember.
However, the desire to really see Jesus glorified in everything did not take root until his junior year of college when Josh was given the chance to live in London, England as a foreign exchange student. During his five months abroad, alone in a foreign country, he was forced to wrestle with the deeper questions of life, and the answers came in some of the most incredible ways. From the incredible family that provided his housing to hiking alone in the Swiss Alps, God revealed that a life lived for Christ is the only life worth living. A year and a half later, in 2012, Josh graduated from the University of Tennessee at Martin with a pair of Bachelors of Science degrees in Sports Management and Public Relations, and God launched him down a path of which he could have never dreamed.
In addition to his work at Fellowship, Josh serves on the Board of Directors with international non-profit Switchboard Missions, a Nashville-based organization that focuses on training indigenous leaders of the local church across the globe, and he is currently pursuing a Master’s of Divinity in Great Commission Studies at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
He and his wife Allison were married in August of 2014, and they now live in Downtown Memphis where they love breakfast dates, drinking coffee, and being outdoors.
