Gospel Truth – A New Sermon Series
By: Claude Atcho
It’s been rightly said that the Gospel — the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection — changes everything. This is true.
Pressing into that question is God’s designed pathway for our wonder and growth for the more we grasp what Jesus has done for us, the more we live in step with who we are in Him. Over the next five weeks, we’ll explore the “how” by unpacking the good news at the center of our faith: that God in Christ saves sinners from sin into the newness of life in His Kingdom now and into eternity.
This Good News is simple enough for a child to grasp and contains depths that could not be exhausted in multiple lifetimes of study. We’ll begin to mine those depths examining how, through Christ’s work, God gives us a new identity (adoption), a new record (justification), removes our condemnation (propitiation), and makes all things, including us, new (new creation).
The realities of what God has accomplished for us in Jesus touch every aspect of our being—our identity, our purpose, our patterns of life, our outlook on the world.
The Gospel truly changes everything.
As we enter this new series, pray with us that Christ himself would enlighten the eyes of hearts to see more clearly and believe more fully the height, depth, and breadth of the love of God in Christ (Eph. 3:18ff).
