Gospel Identity: Reproducer
By: Seth Jones
Most of us are familiar with what’s commonly referred to as the “Great Commission” found in Matthew 28:18-20. In that passage, Jesus instructs his follower to go and make disciples. He tells them to baptize those disciples. He tells them to teach those disciples. Essentially, Jesus is commanding his followers to go and reproduce more followers that will reproduce more followers.
It’s no overstatement to say that many in the church do not feel the missional angst of the Great Commission. After all, we like to be considerate of others and their privacy but how to we reproduce in a culture of “live and let live?” What does it look like to reproduce disciples in a culture that continues to drive itself further and further away from Gospel truth?
These are not easy considerations, but we hope to gain some understanding this Sunday morning as we dive into what it means to be a Gospel Reproducer.
