Equipping Classes

We talk often about being an equipping church. We accomplish that through our Sundays together, our Groups, and through life on life gospel relationships.

We also want to offer regular Equipping Classes to prepare you as a minister of the gospel for your everyday life. Below are the Equipping Classes which are open to our church and others around the city:

For more information regarding Equipping Classes, please email Brian McCurry at [email protected].

Offered at Harding Academy – Fall 2018
Offered at St. George’s – Spring 2019

Our Story Together (4 weeks)
Each of us has a story of how living in a racialized society has impacted our lives. This survey will seek to understand the biblical and historical forces that have shaped our lives today. Our hope is to be a church that continues to be equipped to think holistically about how the gospel comes to bear on everyday life.

Our Story: Understood (4 weeks)
This dive into culture will seek to understand the cultural tools we use to understand the world. If culture is an iceberg, our conversations surrounding racial issues most often only address the tip. This class will use the historical and biblical foundation of Our Story Together to explore the underbelly of culture and how it drives our action or inaction in the face of injustice.

Taught by Karen Spencer from World Relief Memphis

Immigration is one of the most complicated issues of our time. Voices on all sides argue strongly for action and change.

Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold laws and the call to minister to the vulnerable. In this group, we will move beyond the rhetoric to offer a biblical, Christian response to immigration.
