Equipping Classes

We talk often about being an equipping church. We accomplish that through our Sundays together, our Groups, and through life on life gospel relationships.

We also want to offer regular Equipping Classes to prepare you as a minister of the gospel for your everyday life. Below are the Equipping Classes which are open to our church and others around the city:

For more information regarding Equipping Classes, please email Brian McCurry at [email protected].

Offered at St. George’s – January 20 to March 3 (Skipping Sunday, February 3). 5 to 7pm.

Taught by Pastor Jason Cook

This dive into culture will seek to understand the cultural tools we use to understand the world. If culture is an iceberg, our conversations surrounding racial issues most often only address the tip. This class will use the historical and biblical foundation of Our Story Together to explore the underbelly of culture and how it drives our action or inaction in the face of injustice.

Immigration is one of the most complicated issues of our time. Voices on all sides argue strongly for action and change.

Christians find themselves torn between the desire to uphold laws and the call to minister to the vulnerable. In this group, we will move beyond the rhetoric to offer a biblical, Christian response to immigration.

Everyday Church Book Discussi0n (See an example of this resource here)

How do we as the church reach those who are unchurched? We live in an increasingly post-Christian culture. More and more we find ourselves on the margins as less and less people have any intention of every attending church. What used to work doesn’t work anymore and we need to adapt.

Helping us see the way forward, this book and discussion will offer practical ideas and personal stories for engaging with our society. Find out how to effectively reach people in the context of everyday life and take hold of the opportunity to develop a spiritual family on mission focused on Jesus.
