Claude grew up in Lynnwood, WA, where he developed a love for books, basketball, and people. At age 8, Claude began to follow Jesus after hearing the gospel faithfully preached each week at church. Early in his college years, God again worked powerfully in Claude’s life-giving him a passion for sharing the gospel and discipling others.
After completing his undergrad and graduate studies, Claude put this passion into practice vocationally, serving as pastoral staff for two years at a church plant in Bellingham, WA. In 2013, Claude and his wife, Kelsey, moved to Boston, MA to plant a church in one of the least churched cities in America.
In August 2018, after five years of church planting, Claude and Kelsey handed off the leadership of their church plant as Claude joined the pastoral team at Fellowship Memphis.
Claude holds a BA and MA from Western Washington University in English Literature and has formerly taught African-American literature and English composition as an adjunct professor at the community college level. Claude and Kelsey have been married since 2010 and have two wonderful boys, Julian and Adrian.
