Joan grew up in Forrest City, Arkansas. She attended Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education / Office Administration. She and her husband, Keith, spent their first 15 years together ministering in churches across the Southeast, but on September 11, 2001 (yes, THE September 11) they loaded up their moving van and moved to Memphis, Tennessee to begin a new season in their journey.
Even though Joan and Keith grew up just an hour from Memphis, they never dreamed that God would one day have them raise their daughters (Morgan and Kaylee) here and eventually have the joy of calling Memphis “home”. Joan loves the Grizzlies, Memphis restaurants, and all things outdoors. Celebrating all that God is doing in Memphis and how light is piercing the darkness brings her a lot of joy.
Fellowship Memphis is a community where God has allowed the Adams family to learn more about embracing and pursuing the whole Gospel – both the vertical (loving God) and the horizontal (loving others). Joan looks with expectation to the future and how God will continue to move in the body of Fellowship Memphis. This is best expressed in the scripture claimed as a “life verse” for their family.
“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” (Ephesians 3:20-21)
