Laura was born in Tupelo, Mississippi and was raised in small towns throughout Mississippi. Her father is a Pastor, so she was raised in church her entire life, but came to saving faith in Jesus Christ at the age of 13. Since then, she has been on a journey of learning what it is to truly surrender her life to Jesus every day.
After attending both high school and college in Oxford, Mississippi, Laura graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Music Education from Ole Miss. During college, she served on the summer staff at Service Over Self, where she first caught a vision of God’s heart for the marginalized and experienced Memphis in a new way. After moving to Memphis, she taught elementary music in Shelby County Schools for two years and spent one year teaching Music and Choir at Humes Middle School.
Since becoming a member of Fellowship Memphis in 2010, Laura has served in various capacities within Fellowship Kids, both at East Memphis and Downtown Outposts. She is passionate about children hearing and experiencing the lasting truth of the gospel, and hopes to use worship through music as one way to cement that truth in children’s hearts.
Laura and her husband, Parker, have been together for 12 years, and married for 7 years. They have two precious children, Libby and Sam, and hope to bring home their third child through adoption soon.
