Haggai 1:12-15

Greet everyone and check in on how everyone’s week has been.

Ask the Holy Spirit to do what God wants to do in your life and in your group time.

Haggai 1:12-15

Obedience to God’s Call

12 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of God’s people began to obey the message from the Lord their God. When they heard the words of the prophet Haggai, whom the Lord their God had sent, the people feared the Lord. 13T hen Haggai, the Lord’s messenger, gave the people this message from the Lord: “I am with you, says the Lord!”

14 So the Lord sparked the enthusiasm of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the enthusiasm of Jeshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the enthusiasm of the whole remnant of God’s people. They began to work on the house of their God, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, 15 on September 21 of the second year of King Darius’s reign.

  • How do you give evidence in your daily life that you believe God’s word to be powerful?

  • Does your church rightly recognize the authority of the preacher, without elevating him beyond where any person should be?

  • Are you a regular repenter? If not, is it possibly due to your lack of time in God’s Word?

  • In what ways does your life and worship reflect “the fear of the Lord?

  • How might the truth that God is with you encourage you to Christian faithfulness today?

  • Are you trying to lead today in your own strength? How might you be able to rest in the strength that only God can supply?

  • Where is God stirring in you to obey Him? What area of your life is God leading you to obey Him more fully?

Pray that you would sense the stirring of God.

Pray for each other’s needs.

Pray that you would live in dynamic obedience to God.

Pray that the work of God would begin and that He would use you in His work.
