James Sermon Series
Many of us are familiar with the book of James. In fact, many of us have come to deeply love this New Testament letter for its emphasis on pure religion, active faith, and justice. And rightfully so, for James 3:18 longs for a "harvest of righteousness," which so often underscores our reading of the book as a whole.
But in order for the fruit of righteousness to abound, we must sow peace into the soil of our lives, and only those whose hearts have been deeply transformed by the Gospel will be capable of this kind of cultivation.
Thankfully, a deep reading of James reveals that righteousness flows out of the Father's very heart, to which we have glorious access through the work of Christ our Brother, God's gentle and victorious Son.
More thankfully still, James reveals that by humbly receiving the implanted word of truth, our own hearts will be transformed and empowered to join with the Lord in His work of redeeming souls and systems, relationships and religion.
Our prayer is that, as God draws us nearer to His beautiful heart during our time in James, we would draw nearer to one another in repentance, peace, and unshakeable joy.
