Bible Dedication

The weekend of May 21, I had the privilege of attending a Bible Dedication in the Kaffa region (southwest) of Ethiopia. We traveled to Jima and eventually to the city of Bongo to dedicate the Bible in the Kaffa language! It was amazing to witness and celebrate a new Bible after nearly 40 years of translation work! I met two of the translators personally and saw their excitement as the completed translation was held in their hands for the very first time. The most exciting part for me was to see young kids reading the Bible in the Kaffa language. It’s so amazing to know that generations after them will no longer have to wait.

School’s Out!

May 27th was the last official day of school for Bingham Academy. The past month has been a sweet time of celebration and reflection with staff and students. After a difficult year for everyone: students, teachers, parents, and faculty, we were grateful to finish the year strong and in-person! We were even able to have our annual end-of-the-year chapel, and graduation ceremony for our Seniors! The students enjoyed every minute of it and were so excited to end the year with their friends and classmates. Another sweet part of our closing ceremony was hearing Alumni share about the impact of teachers and Bingham on their lives. It is such an encouragement for us teachers to continue to press on!

Additionally, I just arrived in the US on Saturday! It was a bit unexpected, but I am grateful and excited for safe travels back! Please pray that my time here is restful yet productive.
