Pastor Jay Says Goodbye

Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NLT): A Time for Everything

1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

Farewell Fellowship.

Family and friends, it has no doubt been a difficult season in many ways; still reeling from the effects of Covid, as well as searching for a lead pastor, and many challenging departures of other friends and staff. I have truly enjoyed my time pastoring here for the last 6 yrs. It has been a deep privilege to be invited in by you, into sacred moments and spaces from counseling, to funerals, weddings, baptisms, and baby dedications. I am deeply honored, appreciative and humbled to have served and shared these moments with you.

What many of you may not know, is that I had a life before pastoring. For 10 years I worked for FedEx Express, I oversaw a team as small as 25 staff members to as many as 300, with a sizable budget, huge spread sheets, policies and procedures. As much as I have loved Fellowship, I am feeling drawn back into a place where I can use my operational skills & leadership abilities in fresh and new ways.

As I say farewell, please know how grateful I am for each and everyone of you. I have learned so much in this season of my life. A huge part of me is sad to see this season of my life end and a new season begin. However, I am reminded by the author of Ecclesiastes, there is a season for everything.

See you all soon,
Jay Adkins
